Open Question: Anxiety? I'm always expecting the worst?
My mom is an alcoholic and had done some pretty dumb things in the past putting her life in danger. From drunk driving to actual suicide attempts while drinking, every happening while I wasn't around, and sometimes police would arrive in the middle of the night to tell me my mom was in detox/hospital or something. Now she is a completely different person and sober for a few years, but I think that feeling of when she went out, knowing something could happen, scarred me a bit. It's mostly just my mom and boyfriend that I receive this way with, because they're the people closest to me in my life right now, but I tend to feel, when they aren't with me, that something is going to happen. He lives 30 miles out of town and in the middle of no where, so when he is driving home at night, which is usually when he is driving home, I fear he will hit a deer, fall asleep driving, etc. I have almost a mini panic attack until he texts me and tells me he's home. It's not always that I think he's in danger, just when I can think of things that could happen, like hitting a deer, etc. With my mom it's usually if she tells me she will be home at a time, and she isn't home at that time. And I always like to know what she's doing and where she will be and who she's with, before she leaves. So I know it's an unreasonable way of thinking, always expecting something bad to happen, and I know why I have that fear, but it's getting worse and getting in the way of my relationship because I receive overly "motherly" and it irritates him. Tonight I started crying when he left but I couldn't tell him it's because I thought he was going to die on his way home. The thing is I don't know what to do. I don't have time to look a therapist or anything, and I don't think drugs could fix it. And I know where I receive these fears from, so what more can I do?

Im 13 turning 14 next month and im overwieght possibly obese , im not sure i weigh roughly 87 kg and im 5ft 11-12 I really need to loose wieght although i dont look as heavy as i actually am im really worried , it had put down my confidence and i feel like a fat lump. I done the fruit detox for a week which was EXTREMLY difficult as you can only eat once peice of fruit every hour and it cant be a fruit with alot of sugar, i was wondering whether you know of any diets/detoxs of ways to loose weight. been on subox for 2 or 3 yrs .i was taking it because i was on pain pills. i called detox and those jerks couldn't even help me. my Doc who gives me them says i will be on them forever and that is so not true. but long story short i was taking 5 or 6 8mg of subox a day. I'm still taking my valium and im trying to clip down on them also AND Ambien. im working on one thing at a time and the one I'm working on is suboxone. for the past week in a half i have been taking one subox and splitting it in half so i will take half in morning and half later. but as time goes by I'm really getting depressed and edgy . im in my 30s and i feel like picking up and leaving the state i live in.i wont do it though because i have an 18 yr old. he wont go with me because he would rather stay with grandma. but is it normal for me to have break downs , depression , i have so much anger inside of me its ridiculous. is this every because im down to one? BTW i am very proud of myself . but i do have to take half cause i receive sleepy . if this is how it is then how long will it last? am i acting like this from the subox? i was tardy for work and my boss didnt like it and of course hes right and i yelled at him to flame me !!!! of course he didnt. but please i really need an answer to this . thank you so much people getting on my nerves dont help either. but no one will answer my question. not even my damn doctor.

I am a stay at home mom to 2 tiny kids. I do most of the cooking and desperately need a diet plan. I need to loose at least 40 pounds and my husband needs to loose a little more. Open Question: Can I do a detox foot bath while on antibiotics?
Well, I'm supposed to receive something clip out of me tomarrow and have been prescribed antibiotics (cephalexin) and I thought that a nice way to relax after the surgery would be a detoxing foot bath. But I'm skeptical about actually doing it because I'm thinking that the detox would also draw out any benefits from the medication. Is this safe to do or no? Also, what exactly should I look forward to in getting stitches for the first time? I'm going to be getting them in the groin area close to the leg so that's definitly going to be an awkward place to receive stitches...

Do you know any communities that do this, I thought it would be fun to have support and someone else who would do this too. Any takers? I adore red wine and gourmet food...unfortunately it does not adore my hips. Open Question: Question about THC drug testing?
I have a drug test today at 6 pm. I bought a detox drink that my pal told me worked really well for him many times. It says on the drink "if possible do not smoke 72 hours before the test" i haven't smoked in about 50. From what i understand about the drink, it dilutes your urine, (which every the water you have to drink with it also does) but keeps a certain chemical(?) in it so you won't fail it for having diluted urine. I'm only getting a cheap drug test from CVS so I was wondering if they even check for that chemical? If not, wouldn't it be equally as good to just drink a LOT of water? My main question is will my detox drink still cause my urine to be clear because im drinking so much water? I think that in itself might make them automatically fail me. I've heard drinking rockstar helps the color but i've also heard it dehydrates you, so wouldn't that make every the water drinking pointless? Or would the urine still be diluted and the rockstar would just help the color? I would really appreciate some answers! :)

Was just doing one of my essays for uni, and was looking back on my notes; doing Nursing, and for one of the modules, we looked at accountability and misconduct. When I researched some info, I found newspaper articles about some nurses who were found working in these places, and the results they had to face (losing their job). On one article, the paper said about the rates for one of the saunas in Scotland; something like an entry fee of £25 for half hour, pay the girl something ridiculous like £50. I think that is disgraceful, as surely it encourages any old guy to walk through the door and abuse the lady? I have encountered ladies who worked as prostitutes with a drug problem in my part time job (they were in for drug detox), and some of the horror stories I heard!! Why do these places charge so little? EDIT: Omg, I think I am getting "lady hating" men answering... charming....

Open Question: My husband has Cancer, Now what?
We just found out last night after almost two months of testing and waiting that my husband has cancer. Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma to be exact. It appears to be fairly early stage with only one visible lump. But once again we are playing the waiting game, waiting to receive into a cancer specialist for staging at treatment. My husband is only 24 years old and is a otherwise seemingly healthy man. The doctors are very positive about treatment being a success, but we are sleepy of just WAITING. What are some tips/natural remedies that we can receive started on now to help detox his body and battle the cancer? I think if he is actively doing something to help himself it will make a big difference. Any advice would be helpful, this is every very new to us! Thanks in advance! I just want to add that we are going to with the doctors advice, i was just looking for advice for the waiting time between now and when the doctor sees him. I never said that I felt qualified or that we were going against the oncologist...in fact I said that we were waiting to start treatment! I just don't want to be sitting around doing nothing until they receive his Radiation started. I have heard a lot of things about diet change and things like that.

I am madly in adore with my boyfriend Dave. We have been together for four years. He is 45 and I am 29. We are addicted to each other among other things. We have both used drugs. Heroine. We are both only 4 days clean. He went into Detox and I have been taking Suboxones outside of Detox. We have a very serious problem. We adore each other so much and want to be together, but we know that we need to have distance between us right now because otherwise we will be right back out there copping dope. He is about to go to a rehab for 6 months to a year and I am going back to Florida to stay with family and hopefully stay clean and go to meetings. My question is are you going through the same thing or something similar? I am just so unhappy right now and I feel so alone. I just want to know if anyone else out there is with me. Please no mean comments. Why kick someone when they are already down. Most of my fellow YA members are very sympathetic so I really look forward to hearing your encouraging thoughts and advice. Open Question: Drug test for Riddlin... will the THC in my system not let me get my medication?
I'm 19 years old and I just got out of a meeting with my psychiatrist. He just prescribed me riddlin or conserta. and there was a sheet that said tests he wanted performed on me to make sure i was healthy. He checked every this bloodwork, and an EKG, but at the end of the list i also saw that he wanted a urine drug screen and a urinalysis. My mom says she wants me to take these tests tomorrow... but idk whats gonna happen if I fail this test because i smoke weed at least 5 times a week. I'm pretty sure my mom won't find out from my doctor because of doctor/patient confidentiality right? but what if i can't receive conserta because i smoke weed? Resolved Question: Can pain management doctors be held accountable for a patient becoming addicted to prolonged use of a drug?
My wife was prescribed high doses of Hydrocodone over a period of three years, due to multiple back surgeries. Now it seems as the pain management doctors are asking her to just cease her meds and deal with the detox. She is also a heart patient and can't take normal stress related symtoms as others may be able to endure.
